russell family Ronny & Tonya Tonya Also a life-long resident of Decatur, the former Tonya Groves was born in 1964 to Ed & Betty Groves. A graduate of Athens State University, she now teaches Kindergarten at Woodmeade. "Teaching Kindergarten is extremely rewarding - the children are discovering a new world and establishing themselves as individuals. The foundation that I am able to help lay at this age will form the basis for their development, attitudes and achievements throughout their lives. It is an incredible, but exciting responsibility - one that I take very seriously, but also one from which I derive great joy."

A FAMILY CONNECTION

Ronny & Tonya continue to have deep family roots in District 4.

Ruth Owens - Ronny's Mother lived in the
Lake Morgan Townhome Community until her death in 2005.

Linda & Ed Groves - Tonya's Step-Mother and Father live near Wilson Morgan Park.

Betty Carpenter - Tonya's Mother lives near Austin High School.

Rachel & Eddie Groves - Tonya's Brother and his wife live in District 4 near
Chestnut Grove with their newborn daughter, Olivia.

Grace Russell - Ronny's Grandmother lived for over 25 years on Sandra ST SW then lived in the Cedar Springs Retirement Community until her death in 2005.

Allison & Justin Evans – Ronny & Tonya’s daughter and her husband live in the Austinville Community with their newborn son, Wyatt.

Mildred Groves - Tonya's Grandmother lived over 30 years in the Austinville Community
until her recent death in 2008.
